In addition to the standard specification, we also offer our customers individually adapted qualities, e.g. with reduced SO4 or NH3 content.
Description
Nickel (II) nitrate is a strong oxidizing agent and is basically present in various hydrate forms. The hexahydrate (6H2O) and the anhydrate (in each case as solids) are usual. It is basically very well soluble in water.
Typical applications are:
- Production of pure catalyst nickel,
- Electrolytic nickel plating,
- Recovering nickel (II) oxide,
- Dyeing as a pickling agent and
- Ceramic industry (as a brown pigment).
The preparation is carried out either by dissolving pure nickel or nickel oxide with nitric acid.
