Co(NO3)2
Quality
Cobalt nitrate solution is available in different grades with a cobalt content of about 14%.
Available as hexahydrate.
Description
Cobalt (II) nitrate is prepared by dissolving cobalt, cobalt (II) oxide or cobalt (II) carbonate produced in dilute nitric acid.
The solution is dark red.
Classic applications can be found e.g. in the production of high purity cobalt or colored pigments for the ceramics industry.
Our customers can be found among others in biogas production, water treatment, electroplating (coating), catalysis or battery industry.
It is an active catalyst and also an important part of the Fischer-Tropsch process in the production of synthetic fuel and / or lubricant from gas (GTL).
Cobalt nitrate is carcinogenic and mutagenic and also is suspected to be teratogenic. It is listed in the REACH Candidate List of SVHCs.
