Quality
We supply iron nitrate, ferric nitrate or iron(III) nitrate in solution with an iron content of approx. 9.3% to 9.7% and an Fe(NO3)3 content of approx. 40.3% to 42%.
Customized special grades are available, e.g. with 8.5% to 9% iron.
Description
Traditionally, iron nitrate has been used for tanning leather, but also for pickling cotton, as well as for dyeing silk.
Today it is more applications in the field of:
- Treatment / coating of (metallic) surfaces
- Preparation of catalysts
- Water treatment (corrosion inhibitors, for example, to reduce the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in certain wastewater pipes)
- Waste water treatment (e.g., pH regulation, flocculants, precipitants, neutralization)
- Intermediates (e.g., preparation of Fe2O3 color pigments)
Iron nitrate is a dark brown solution.
