Red Sea Attacks

Due to the attacks by the Houthi rebels on merchant ships in the Red Sea, several shipping companies have decided to abandon the usual route through the Suez Canal for the time being. Instead, the merchant ships are being diverted via the tip of South Africa, which not only causes massive delays due to the longer shipping time, but also higher costs. The higher costs are caused on the one hand by the increased fuel consumption resulting from the longer route, but also by the shortage of containers in the various ports worldwide.
